AM 2-Tank Dive

  • Morning 2-tank dive trips cater to our certified divers who want to explore the walls, reefs, and wrecks surrounding New Providence Island. Each morning all of the boats going out do this type of dive trip (unless there is an all-day Wilderness Seafari going out).
  • All of our Hotel Packages and Dive Only packages include the 2-Tank AM dive as part of the package. Dive & Hotel packages include diving every day EXCEPT for the day of arrival and day of departure.
  • Your first dive is always a beautiful wall. On average our walls begin at 40 feet, although some are deeper. Each dive site along the wall is different and unique in its own way. The wall is wonderful for both new and advanced divers. Your divemaster leads the dives to 80 feet for 30 minutes, however, we are flexible around this as you and your buddies may prefer to stay up on the shallower ledge while others may plan their dive a bit deeper.
  • Your second dive is either a shallow reef or wreck dive. There are a number of beautiful reefs each with different coral formations and fish life. You may explore a 100-foot freighter in 50 feet of water; or the famous James Bond wreck in 40 feet of water or you may dive on the Cessna used in the filming of JAWS.
  • We decide on the specific site we will be diving on the actual dive day. This keeps us flexible and gives us an idea of what the best weather conditions are and what everyone on the boat would prefer to do.

PM 2-Tank Dive

  • Our afternoon 2-tank trip operates much like our morning 2-tank dive. A key difference between morning and afternoon trips is that in the mornings all of our boats do a 2-tank dive trip. In the afternoons we offer specialty dives and each boat is doing something different.

All Day Diving Program

  • Our All Day Diving Program is a combination of the AM 2-Tank Dive and the PM 2-Tank Dive.
  • Your morning boat is guaranteed to return to the docks prior to your afternoon boat leaving. You will then have a very short turn around time between boat trips.
  • Lunch is available for sale in the dive shop for a nominal fee. Lunch usually consists of a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a soda or juice

The Shark Adventure

  • This could quite possibly be the most exciting dives you will ever do. Stuart Cove’s Shark Adventure™ is a 2-tank dive program which introduces thrill seeking divers to wild sharks and provides you a close up look at these magnificent and misunderstood creatures.
  • There are currently four sites where we dive with the sharks. You will dive either the combination of "Shark Wall" and "The Arena" or the combination of "Runway Wall" and "The Runway". At either location encounter a gathering of Caribbean Reef Sharks on a consistent basis.
  • Your first dive is a "Free Swim" with the sharks on a magnificent wall. The sharks will follow you throughout the dive because we are close to our feeding site and they know the dinner bell will ring soon. However, no bait is exposed on this dive. This keeps the sharks curious and creates a very natural encounter for divers - just as you would encounter a shark in the wild.
  • Your second dive is a shark feeding dive. Unlike ordinary dives - you will spend this dive kneeling on the sand bottom. Divers form a semi-circle in front of our professional shark feeder who will place a bait box. Your feeder utilizes this bait box and a pole spear to control the release of food which influences the sharks' behavior. While novice shark divers may not notice it - during the shark feeding dives your feeder tries to keep the sharks in a "polite" feeding posture. However be warned - the sharks will come close - very close - but they are more interested in the bait than you!

Real cattle boat operation with very little marine Life. We booked 4 days of diving with Stuart Coves 4 am and 2 Pm trips. The first day we had the same pickup problems, They were supposed to be there at 8:10, and at 8:30 we called and they were running late, arrived at 8:50. When we arrived, the site was very busy, disorganized, and disjointed, unlike the old place we remembered 10 years ago. The diving was sub-par as the area was basically void of animal life. we did two dives and canceled the upcoming afternoon dives and it was not worth the experience. We later canceled one of the morning dive trips as there was very little to look at as the reef was severely damaged, so they were taking us to wrecks.

Date of experience: August 2021

We stayed at Orange grove and went diving with Stuart Cove’s. They transported us to and from the dive site daily. the diving was good and was the service. There was a dive on an old shark feeding site that was very good. The sharks remembered that there used to be food there associated with scuba divers. I did not enjoy the shark feeding dive as it is a non natural state for the sharks as well as the divers and I would not recommend that dive.

I've dived with Stuart Cove every year for the past several years (usually in May). It's a high-volume operation, with all that implies, but the price is very reasonable. Sometimes you get lucky on a boat with only a few divers, most times it's a crowd. The dive master quality is variable--some are just counting heads, others try to find interesting stuff. The dive sites are pretty well hammered on the SW side of New Providence Island, so you don't see much unusual marine life. They do a good job on the shark dives, which are my favorite.

The time I was there had a change in weather which brought in a small pod of dolphins they normally don't see. It was remarkable to see a young calf close by and see it protected by the adults. I also wanted to collect some lionfish and special arrangements were made at no extra cost to have a dedicated boat and crew help take several off the reefs. The dive master was just recovering from a severe venom injury and yet was willing to have more close encounters with this invasive fish.

We went to Stuarts Cove 2 years ago. We stayed at the resort they recommended which was quite nice. They had a restaurant and the rooms had kitchenettes. Stuarts Cove would pick us up in the morning. The dives were full of life including sharks. They also have a seperate shark dive you can sign up for. Our only complaint is that they cater to the cruise ships and therefore stay on a strict time schedule. The first dive was relaxed, the 2nd dive would be 30 minutes later for 30 minutes only. Because of that we would not do Stuarts again, but would go with one of the livaboards. The boats themselves were very good and helpful deckhands. They would only send a guide on the first dive, not the 2nd quickly one. Disappointed with that.
