Arthur's place, Anilao
Arthur's Place is like one of the little gems you find outside of the beaten track. Let me tell you immediately that if you're looking for a fancy 5-star resort complex this is not the place for you. If you however look for a more local experience with lots of hospitality this might be it. Rooms were simple, but functional for diving with a camera. We had three different courses for lunch and five for dinner including soup as entre. Every dish seemed local in the restaurant so you could have fresh fish every day. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The boat was a traditional bangka. The spotter for really good and knew the area as well as the habitat for the creatures on our critter list. Arthur's place is pretty much smack in the middle so you have short distances to sites for both macro and wide angle. Almost every dive site is fairly simple with no hard currents though there are some exceptions. For the non-diver I couldn't see the Anilao region having much to offer, but for the diver every vacation will feel too short.
