SOCORRO ISLANDS REVIEW

If you are interested on diving in Socorro you better be an advanced and prepared diver. We are talking about a group of island lost in the middle of the ocean, where you often find strong currents, blue water and deep diving. Also you have to sail for 26 hours to arrive to Socorro from Los Cabos. So, it´s a long journey and sometimes a rough one! All this to say that Socorro isn't for everybody, but in return you will do the best dives of your life!!! You will get tired of seeing dolphins, huge mantas, humpback whales (sometimes even underwater), yellowfin tunas, and 6 different species of sharks: white tips, silver tips, silkies, galapagos, tigers, and my favorite ones: the hammerheads. If you are lucky, like I was, you get to see big schools of them. Imagine watching almost 300 hammerheads passing quietly by your side, it´s a lifetime experience!!

WHEN TO GO

The best time of the year to visit is during march and april, but if you are looking for whales sharks the best time is october, november. It´s up to you but in any case you will have close and intimate encounters during the 20 or so dives you will do during your 6 days trip.
