Misool Eco Resort is a paradise for scuba divers and is my favorite dive resort I've ever been to! The accommodation is amazing, you stay on water villas right in front of the house reef and wake up to turtles and blacktip reef sharks swimming just under your porch. The villas are great, they are stunningly beautiful, with comfortable beds and AC and you have steps from your porch leading down to the house reef so you can snorkel anytime.

The dive resort has lots of other activities to join in on, in addition to scuba diving, you can go to a jellyfish lake, do a hike in the rainforest, visit secluded island beaches for lunch, etc. The food is top notch and the service is impeccable- they are very attentive. They gave informative talks each night about the marine life and about the resort. You can go on a ride along with the marine rangers there to learn how they protect the marine protected area, as well.

And of course, the diving was incredible! They limit the amount of people on each boat/dive site so you are usually there either alone with your DM or with only a couple other people. Saw wobbegong sharks, lots of mantas, turtles, reef sharks and fish, the list could go on forever, but suffice it to say Misool was a diver's dream come true and I highly recommend it!

Nautilus Under Sea

I went on the Nautilus Under Sea to Guadalupe Island on a 5-day trip to dive with the white sharks and it was an amazing trip! The Nautilus crew were super friendly and professional and were all about safety, making for a really enjoyable trip! The food on board was great and you never went hungry, they did nice interpretive presentations about the sharks in the evenings and were very passionate about shark conservation, which was nice. The rooms were clean and comfy, with nice clean bathrooms and good beds so you slept well on the trip. They have two underwater cages and one surface cage and they rotate you around so you can pretty much be in the water in one of the cages at all times if you wanted to, giving you ample opportunity to see the sharks and get some great pictures! They would yell out "shark!" every time a shark came by which was pretty fun and got everyone pumped! You are pretty much guaranteed to see sharks every day, there wasn't really even an hour that went by when there wasn't at least one shark circling the boat. It's a really cool trip to go on, definitely should be on your bucket list and these guys are the real deal, very professional, highly recommend!

Sorido Bay Resort was a superb place to stay, the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was amazing. Buffet-style meals with freshly made local and western-style meals to choose from. The rooms were right on the beach in a beautiful location with a porch and hammock where you could sit outside and have a beer and watch the monitor lizards walk by and see the sunset. Just beautiful. The rooms have a nice AC and they were very spacious and had comfy beds. The staff would give you fresh towels and clean your room twice a day.

The dive operation was very professional, the divemasters really knew the reefs and where to take you depending on the conditions. They only put you with one or two other people so you weren't feeling cramped on your dive boat which made it even more pleasant. The resort also offered other activities other than scuba diving, like going to look for the bird of paradise or hiking up to a lookout for an amazing view. The house reef is also very nice and you can see blacktip reef sharks and giant trevally swimming right underneath the pier! The diving itself was, of course, amazing, being that it is Raja Ampat and I saw lots of marine life like mantas, tuna, a dugong, barracuda, cuttlefish and I even swam with a pilot whale! One of the best things about this resort is that it is literally less than 10 minutes from like all the top Raja dive sites, do yourself a favor and stay at Sorido Bay Resort!
