Diver Information

Professional instructions and boat captains balance protecting your safety and the marine environment with providing unforgettable dive experiences. Dive training and certification are available. Please inquire in advance to make arrangements. Nitrox upgrade is available at an additional charge.

Not certified? Complete the PADI online EAN eLearning class before coming to the island and complete it a Cayman Brac Beach Resort for a nominal fee. Or schedule the complete course while there, and the nitrox upgrade may be at a reduced rate or even free. All diving with Reef Divers requires presentation of a certification card and completion of some paperwork which can be done quickly.

Reef Divers Valet Diving service makes diving easier and more fun for everyone by doing all the heavy lifting. Guests are issued mesh bags at check-in for their “boat gear” to use while visiting. These are picked up from outside dive guests’ doors early the first dive day – and that’s the last time divers will have to carry it until they pack to leave.

The staff takes care of setting up, cleaning, drying, storing this gear. The resort has a drying room for hanging wetsuits and other items. So the only gear divers should take back to their rooms are cameras, loose computers, and personal items. The boats have towels for divers’ use and carry fresh, cold water and snacks.

All boat dives are done from moorings to preserve the reefs. There are normally no currents in the Caymans, making this a great destination choice for new divers, photographers, or anyone who wants to just leisurely explore beautiful reefs and marine life. Dives are briefed on board with hand-drawn maps showing the dives’ routes.

Divers may follow the guide or choose to go off on their own within the established dive profile. Gearing up is as easy as getting gear on the boat. Reef Divers does the work. Guests sit on wide, stable platforms on the rear of the boat and the staff brings their tank and BCD to them. After helping don the gear and stand up – it’s one giant stride into the beautiful Cayman Caribbean. And at the end of the dive, divers may hand up their fins and climb the ladder out or opt to remove all gear in the water.

Reef Divers’ dive shop is open daily 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (closed for lunch 12:30 – 1:00 PM). Morning 2-tank boat trips require divers to be on board by 8:00 AM (7:45 AM first day to allow time for boat procedure review). Afternoon 1-tank boat trips require divers on board by 1:45 PM. Check with the dive shop for availability and departure time for night dives (adjusted seasonally) or if interested in an extended morning trip to Little Cayman’s famous Bloody Bay Wall Marine Park (weather permitting at an additional charge).

We visited Brac Reef Resort in a quiet time which worked well for us avoiding crowds on the dive boats and the meals too. The food was buffet and good, making it easy to choose whatever you needed. The staff was always helpful. The rooms were clean and very close to the beach and dive center. The diving was on local reefs with abundant life. The dives were relaxing for the most part and conducive to taking our time with photos. The Tibbets wreck is a spectacular dive with so much to explore and so close too. We were able to cross over to Little Cayman's Bloody Bay Wall for a day trip from Brac which was great to be able to do without staying on the other island too. The blood red sponges are so vibrant when the strobe light touches them. Because the resort was at low occupancy, afternoon dives or night dives were not offered, leaving us with only 2 morning dives. This turned out to be no problem as they helped us easily rent a car on the island and the shore diving was great. By shore diving, I mean stairs and ladders in and out to beautiful wrecks, underwater bronze dolphins, and a wreck too. This is a wonderful location where you can dive, explore, rest, and connect to home if you want to.

This was an excellent resort with an outstanding dive operation (Reef Divers Cayman Brac). Rooms were spacious, food was plentiful and tasty, staff was very willing to help with anything at anytime. We happened to hit the place in a slow week and I was glad we did. It was just our group of divers and occasionally a couple more popped in for dives. The week after ours they were planning on having 50+ divers. The dive operation was excellent, staffed with people who really knew what they were doing and were fun loving and gracious enough to make your dive time outstanding. Mick ran the operation, Barb the shop and Jeff, B.J., Steve and Garrett took us around the dive sites and showed us a great time. Charlie's Reef and the Tibbett's wreck were two of our favorite sites and we went back for a second helping of each. Sea life was plentiful at most sites and the dive masters who accompanied us spotted stuff to show us that we never would have seen.

The Brac Reef Beach Resot is a great diving resort in paradise!!!!
Me and my wife spent a week there diving 2-tanks every morning. Water is clear and warm, sea life is incredible and Reef Divers makes everything easier to us. Eric, Jeff, JB… a super professional team on board and underwater.
Everything is stress-free at the resort. Kind people with high standard of service in mind. Clean comfortable rooms and excellent food!!!

The room at Brac Reef Beach Resort was fine for 2 friends to share, although there was a bad smell coming from the AC or possibly a slightly wet carpet that never dried out between guests. The food was excellent and varied, with vegetarian and meat choices. Desserts twice a day made sure we never went hungry. The only downside was that the reefs seemed somewhat barren of marine life. Outside of the friendly Nassau groupers and some tarpon, there wasn't anything out of the ordinary to see. I had expected more from my first trip to the Caymans. The divemasters were very competent at camera handling and changing over our gear. Did not have to deal with it after the first time setting it up. However, they were more intent on killing lionfish than showing divers interesting critters. There was no shore diving. Did not get to do a day trip to Little Cayman's Bloody Bay Wall because a couple people on our boat did not want to go.
