The Galaxy 720 Liveaboard offers guests two types of accommodations: Suites (3) or Standard Double Cabins (9.) The spacious Royal Suite is located on the Lower Deck, equipped with 2 sofas and a separate walk-in shower cubicle in its bathroom. It is also equipped with a personal TV and DVD player. The remaining two King-Sized Suites are located on the Upper Deck and are outfitted with large windows overlooking the horizon. There is one Standard Double Cabin located on the Upper Deck, while the rest are located on the Lower Deck. All the Standard Double Cabins come complete with a personal unit air-conditioning and private bathrooms.

Dive Information & Destinations

Red Sea Dive Overview

• Wrecks, abundant reef fish life, multiple macro critters, dolphins and awesome coral gardens.
• All dives from the mothership and 2 skiffs that carry 11 divers each for quick access.
• Water temperature: 74 - 82F, 23 - 28C.
• A 3-5mm wetsuit is recommended for summer and 7mm in the winter.

NORTH-TIRAN Itinerary

• Similar to the Northern & Ras Mohamed itinerary, the Strait of Tiran and North cruise allows you to take in some of the most notorious wrecks and reefs the Red Sea has to offer as well as the pristine coral reefs of Tiran. The Tiran dive area is found in the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba and is made up of four main reefs that form the top of an underwater bridge. These reefs, named after British cartographers (Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas, Gordon), are world famous for their extraordinary diversity of corals and strong south westerly currents make them home to many large pelagic fish.
• SS. Thistlegorm – Shaab Ali: Probably the most famous of the Red Sea wrecks. The 129m English Freighter was bombed by German aviation on 6th October 1941. Today she creates an artificial reef on a sandy bottom at 32m max depth. She is home to an enormous variety of marine life and is especially popular with large schooling fish.
• Small Crack – Shaab Mahmoud: This is a small split in the middle of Shaab Mahmoud’s barrier. Drift along the outside wall next to beautiful corals and colourful fish. Look for a sand slope that leads you up and through the crack. When the current is right you can fly through the 5m deep channel and be thrown out across the sandy lagoon!
• Shag Rock: This large circular reef is often overlooked but offers excellent diving on pristine coral from any location on its perimeter.
• Abu Nuhas: Also known as the ‘Ships Graveyard’, this reef is dangerously positioned close to the busy shipping lanes of the Gulf of Suez. This reef has claimed more ships than any other in the area. On the north side are four wrecks laying on a sandy seafloor at the bottom of a steep sloping reef layered with table corals. On the south side is a safe anchorage for liveaboards and two ergs, known as Yellow Fish Reef.
• Ras Mohamed Reef: This is a world-renowned dive site, situated at the tip of the Sinai. Two small ergs are joined by a vertical wall dropping into the abyss. At Shark Reef the current allows you to drift along the wall, rich with colourful corals. Moving towards Yolanda Reef you reach a plateau scattered with small ergs and coral outcrops. Continuing around the reef you will come upon the scattered remains of the wreck ‘Yolanda’ complete with its cargo of toilets and baths. The whole of this area is big fish territory so keep an eye on the blue!
• Jackson Reef – Tiran: This is the most northerly reef and on its northern edge lays the wreck of a freighter serving as a stark warning to ships in the narrow straights. Dives are usually conducted from the moorings on the south side which is sheltered from the main swell and currents. Moving northwards, you will come across a forest of spectacular Gorgonia fan coral at about 20 to 30 meters as well as many different kinds of reef fish. This site can also be done as a drift dive heading from the mooring towards the East with the reef on the left where it is mostly wall diving with excellent corals.
• Woodhouse Reef – Tiran: This is the longest reef of the four in the Strait of Tiran. Home to reef sharks and eagle rays, it is dived as a drift dive usually from South to North. Jumping at the southern part of the reef is a wall to about 30m covered with coral from the surface all the way down. There is a canyon going along the reef at about 25m which spreads out into a coral garden with sand alleys.
• Thomas Reef – Tiran: This is the smallest reef in the Strait and diving here is governed by the weather as there are extremely strong currents. The ends are vertical walls with a large plateau at about 25m on the south-eastern side. This plateau often has sleeping sharks on the sand patches and the colourful coral has a fence of Gorgonia fans at the end.
• Gordon Reef – Tiran: This is the most southerly reef of the four and has a different topography from the others offering both a shallow plateau area and drop offs. A huge variety of reef fish and big schools of grouper can be seen here and on the sandy bottom at 4 to 5 meter there is an eel garden area along with coral encrusted drums. The top of the reef, with its lighthouse, is also home to the wreck Lovilla which sits almost parallel to the wreck on Jackson Reef.
• Laguna Reef – Tiran: Home to the wrecks Kormoran and Million Hope. Both wrecks are located north of Laguna Reef and so you need good weather to dive them as they are very exposed.
• All dives sites are subject to weather conditions and the final route taken is at the absolute discretion of the captain and dive guides.
• Start and end in Hurghada; this tour visits reefs between Hurghada and Tiran.

CLASSIC NORTH Itinerary

• This safari allows you to take in some of the most iconic wrecks that the Red Sea has to offer. An ideal itinerary for those new to SCUBA diving or the Red Sea, allowing you to experience world-famous wrecks and pristine reefs.
• SS. Thistlegorm – Shaab Ali: Probably the most famous of the Red Sea wrecks. The 129m English Freighter was bombed by German aviation on 6th October 1941. Today she creates an artificial reef on a sandy bottom at 32m max depth. She is home to an enormous variety of marine life and is especially popular with large schooling fish.

NORTH-BROTHERS itinerary

• Carnatic – Abu Nuhas: A British P&O steamer which struck the reef in 1869. She lays in 29m and now the whole hull is draped in multi-coloured soft corals. The wreck is home to glass fish, octopus, morays, jacks and tuna cruise overhead.
• Big Brother Island: A 400-meter long island offering fabulous wreck diving and wall diving. The wreck of the Numidia lies on the northern tip between 10 and 80 meters. The north-west side of the island houses the wreck of the Aida. Every section of this reef is covered with corals and life.
• Small Brother Island: From its name, you can guess that it is a little smaller than Big Brother Island! It is surrounded by walls, covered in soft corals. The dives can be challenging, but are definitely rewarding. Sightings of large pelagic are a very common and the beautiful Gorgonia Fan coral forest is an awe-inspiring sight.

BROTHERS-DEADALUS-ELPHINSTONE itinerary

• Explore three of the finest dive sites in the Red Sea. A great all-round tour for divers with slightly more experience. There is so much to see that you’re spoilt for choice, but don’t forget to keep an eye out in the blue. This safari offers challenging dives, big drop offs, beautiful coral walls and plenty of large fish. Brother Islands, Daedalus & Elphinstone is a must for all die-hard Red Sea divers!
• Big Brother: A 400-meter long island offering fabulous wreck diving and wall diving. The wreck of the Numidia lies on the northern tip between 10 and 80 meter. The north-west side of the island houses the wreck of the Aida. On every section of this reef the wall is covered with corals and life.
• Little Brother: Boasts a very high concentration of life within a very small area.
• Fan coral forests, overhangs, hard and soft corals in a variety of astonishing colours… and of course there are plenty of fish! With regular sightings of hammerheads, thresher sharks, grey sharks and white tip reef sharks, at the right time of year.
• Daedalus: About 180 km south of the Brother Islands, this huge reef is surrounded by a sheer wall and strong currents allowing for fantastic drift diving. The hard corals grow to huge sizes but make sure you also keep an eye on the blue!
• Elphinstone Reef: A Red Sea legend. One of the most beautiful reefs, with its north and south plateau’s covered in hard and soft corals and visiting pelagic, this truly is an awesome reef.
• All dives sites are subject to weather conditions and the final route taken is at the absolute discretion of the captain and dive guides.
• Start and end in Port Ghalib; this tour visits reefs between Port Ghalib and Brother Island, Daedalus and Elphinstone.

• Cave reef is located one hour north of the main St. John’s area. Have fun finding your way through tunnels and around pinnacles. Beautiful dive site at the Red Sea.
• St. John’s Reef: Located on the Tropic of Cancer, this chain of reefs is the furthest South you will get! All its dive sites are very close to each other which means that you can easily move from one place to another. It therefore adds a lot of variety to your dives: drop-offs, tunnels and stunning hard-coral formations. One of these dives (St. John’s Caves or Umm Kharalim) is truly unique and is a photographer’s heaven with rays of light filtering through into the beautiful tunnels.
• St. John’s Reef North: Located one hour north of the main St. John’s area. Have fun finding your way through tunnels and around pinnacles.
• Fury Shoal: An immense chain of reefs creating a host of outstanding dive sites including Abu Galawa in the north to Sataya in the south. Have fun exploring caves, tunnels, coral gardens, plateaus and drop offs! Abu Galawa is located within Fury Shoal – have fun exploring the wreck of ‘Tug Boat’. The reef also has good coral dives on the west side.

• Zabargad: The island of Zabargad is an amazing dive spot. It is characterised by an enormous mountain reaching out of the water, surrounded by a lagoon and circling reef. There are a couple of wrecks and a great variety of corals and reef fish.
• Rocky Island: Rocky Island hosts a fringing reef that circles the entire perimeter of the island, dropping steeply to astonishing depths, although the most interesting features and life are found above 12m. Watch the blue for life but take care as there can be strong currents.
