Dive Overview
Colorful, pristine reefs, uncrowded dive sites, unforgettable wrecks, healthy shark populations, and big schools of fish can be seen in Sudan. Sudan usually attracts more experienced divers and those who might have dived the Red Sea before. Djibouti is situated at the beginning of the Red Sea and is influenced by the Indian Ocean in virtue of this phenomenon here from October to January there are a lot of whale sharks in addition to coral fishes, giant groupers, pelagic fishes all fed by the massive presence of oxygen and plankton. This destination is for divers and snorkelers and for those people who love whale sharks.

Dive Information & Destinations
Sudan Dive Overview
Sudan is one of the world's most unique diving destinations. The coast of Sudan has remained wild and untouched, with less than a thousand divers venturing there every year. To diving connoisseurs, Sudan's dive sites at Sanganeb, Angarosh, Sha'ab Rumi and Cousteau's pre-continent all sound very familiar and evoke unforgettable dives. This is the place to see schools of hammerheads with a colorful coral backdrop, white tip, grey, silk, longimanus, tiger sharks regularly pass by the points of these famous reefs. But this is not only the best place to admire sharks; pristine reefs are incredibly rich in underwater life and visited by turtles, mantas, schools of barracudas, dolphins, etc. Famous World underwater photographers and divers such as Hans Hass, Leni Riefenstahl, Folco Quilici, Raimondo Boucher, Gianfranco Bernabei, Mario Morra, Paolo e Giuseppe Notarbartolo, Umberto Pellizzari, Jeremy Stafford Deitsch, all agree this is truly an underwater paradise.

Djibouti Dive Overview
Djibouti is far from the beaten track for most scuba divers but if it is whale sharks you want to see, there is no place better. Whilst most whale shark encounters are close to shore, we stingily recommend a liveaboard here so you can escape the crowds of day boat snorkelers and focus on these stunning plankton-eating sharks. There is no doubt as to what the main attraction is here. Each and every year whale sharks cruise into Djibouti's waters, stopping off on their annual migrations.

Djibouti Tadjourah Special Whale Sharks
From mid-October to February, plankton ‘blooms’ develop in an enclosed bay named The Gulf of Tadjourah near Djibouti City. Although whale sharks can be seen throughout the year, encounters are especially common from October to February. The plankton-rich waters of Djibouti attract many of the great pelagic species. Recent research has recognized the particular importance of the bay in the development of juvenile whale sharks, which stay within the safe confines of Djibouti’s coastline. The rich feeding grounds that make up Djibouti’s coastal waters attract a range of other different species, alongside manta rays, beaked and pilot whales. Additionally, most species of dolphin are represented in great numbers off Djibouti’s coast, and are often seen ‘running’ the bow wave of boats. Grey and nurse sharks are the most commonly encountered species, whilst both tiger and hammerhead sharks have occasionally been seen. This itinerary is absolutely recommended besides the divers to snorkelers and free divers.
