CoCo View Resort is great! It's not the cheapest location on the island but it's worth the cost. The resort is on a section of island that is only accessible by boat. The resort is small with a very warm feel to it. There are over-water rooms, a building of rooms with balconies, and private beach houses.

A few weeks before we were to arrive, CoCo View contacted me to let me know they were full and would be moving me to a private beach house. These were a few minutes away via bicycle and offered their own stretch of beach, in addition to having all the amenities of a house (kitchen , living room, sun deck, etc). I loved staying at the private beach house.

All meals were provided and made by the friendliest women. I have a few dietary restrictions and they were more than happy to help create meals for me or pull some of the main dish aside before adding the other ingredients I couldn't eat. Local alcohol and beer were included as was most sodas, tea, etc. Once a week there is a BBQ on their private quay with a local dance group coming to give entertainment. The resort also offers a game room that people use for reading, lounging, and catching up with others.

The diving was great! The wreck Prince Albert is right in their "backyard" and is a beautiful dive. You can dive their shoreline anytime, any day. The lockers, dive tanks and cleaning stations are open 24-hours a day. There are morning and afternoon boat dives. The boats are large and comfortable, including a midboat entry so if the swell is bad you can enter from under the boat without risking a swinging ladder accident. The second dive of any boat trip is along the wall heading back to the resort. The longer dive you want, the further they drop you off. While this might seem like a boring repeat, vary your depth by 5' and you'll see things you didn't see before. Or locate something you really like and enjoy multiple opportunities to photograph it.

I would recommend this resort to people who are looking to get in a lot of dives, who enjoy wreck dives, and people who want an all-inclusive resort.

I loved my week at CoCo View and understand why they have so many return customers. The rates for all-inclusive are fantastic. You can spend more time underwater than you can from most liveaboard operations. They have a great house reef that consists of two walls, a ship wreck, and an airplane wreck. A typical day consists of Boat dive, boat drops you off on house reef dive and you take your time heading back to resort, boat dive, boat drops you off on house reef dive, and a night dive if you have the energy. The fish life is pretty healthy since this is in a marine preserve, but suited more for macro photographers than wide-angle, although some of the growth on the walls would make for nice W/A. My favorite subjects were a seahorse, some arrow blennies, and hamlets that did their mating rituals at the top of the house reefs in the afternoon.

I have visited Coco View 4 times in the last 8 years. This year (2014) I will return for my 5th and become a true Coco Nut.
the accommodations are a bit rustic but more than adequate. The food is hearty and plentiful and that's a good thing considering all the diving you can get in. An orientation dive is required more for navigation around the front yard walls and wreck than to check out your skill. All drop off dives are with out a DM so you are on your own and better know how to navigate and be self sufficient. As Coco View gets more and more well known its getting harder to get into. One of the best places is the turtle grass on the way back to Coco View from the walls. Never know what you will see there from rays to octopus to juveniles.

Roatan, Honduras has CoCo View Dive Resort. I've been there 3 times and my husband twice. CoCo View is the most frequently returned-to resort in the world. Once you've been there, you fall in love withj it. Your 10th visit is free.

Each couple stays in a cabana which is over the actual Caribbean water. The room is simple, but very clean and well kept. There is unlimited shore diving all day and night. Each diver gets a morning boat ride to 2 destinations and an afternoon boat ride with 2 destinations. The dive masters are awesome. They take you to the animals' homes. Wreck dives are there, as well as reef and wall dives are awesome. It is a good place to get certified on anything and everything you would like.
Diving is so very convenient. Yourr dive locker is just feet away from the dive boats. They fill up water tanks for you. Dive Master and boat captain hook and lift up the tanks.
The photo, equipment repair, gift shops, restaurant, and bar is always open. pool and ping pong at night. 3 meals included with price. I could go on forever.
Sea turtles, goliath grouper, octopus, tarpon, sharks, rays, toad fish, eels and anything else you want to see is there.
I hope some day , if you haven't been, you consider CoCo View as your dive choice.

This is the best dive operation I have ever used. They are organized, professional and make diving as easy as possible. Before you get back from your boat dives they've got full tanks waiting for you at your dive locker. Unlimited shore and night diving. Not a lot of big animals but lots of macro life and sponges/corals. Saw my first sea horses, mantis shrimp and a toadfish and several octopus out and about. Shore diving is the easiest I've done. Walk in and walk out . Path out to the house reef and the wreck is well marked and easy to find.

The rooms are not fancy but very comfortable. Air conditioning, hot showers and comfy beds. Each room also has a coffee maker and small refrigerator. They have over the water bungalows available but we stayed in a waterfront room. All rooms have an beautiful ocean view.

The food is good and plentiful and served buffet style. During breakfast you can get a made to order omelet. I would've liked to have had local Honduran dishes but I guess since they cater to Americans they serve American food.

This was our first but certainly not our last trip here.
