At Lissenung Island Resort, the emphasis is truly on island. You can walk around the entire island, with some breathtaking white-sand beaches in 15 minutes, encountering nothing but the exotic birds and occasional sea creature along the way. Follow the manicured pathway underneath the canopy of tropical trees, and you have arrived at your jungle bungalow. Life just got a whole lot better.
Located on a private island about twenty minutes (by boat) from Kavieng in Papua New Guinea, Lissenung Island Resort is the ideal place for guests wanting to dive some of the most colorful and biodiverse reefs in the world. More than 40 different dive sites are scattered amongst the several small islands in the area. The sites include a number of Japanese plane wrecks, macro diving, reefs, drop-offs, and straits with stronger currents (and big fish)! Lissenung is an award-winning dive operation and popular with underwater photographers, so guests know they are in good hands.
After a day of diving, guests can relax with a book in the main house, snorkel the house reef, canoe, fish, or even surf at one of the nearby beach breaks. Tours of villages on neighboring islands, as well as the mainland, are also available. After a day of adventure, enjoy some of the stunning sunsets, head out for a night dive, or stare at the Milky Way. Lunch and dinner are eaten in the main house or the oceanside table, with a fantastic menu. At Lissenung Island Resort, you will go to sleep happy.
