This is probably the most classic of all diving safari routes offered in the Red Sea.

North of Hurghada, the Red Sea splits into two arms: the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez. The entrance to the Gulf of Suez, which has become heavily trafficked since the opening of the Suez Canal, is the Strait of Gubal. This strait is considered difficult to navigate due to its numerous reefs and islands, which has proven fatal to many ships. Who hasn't heard of the four wrecks of Abu Nuhas, the Rosalie Moller, and the Thistlegorm? The Northern and Wreck Safari is characterized by excellent dive sites such as Bluff Point and Blind Reef, with their vibrant soft corals, and its very short travel distances.

SS. Thistlegorm
The mystical SS Thistlegorm is a must-dive for every Red Sea diver. It's a treat for wreck enthusiasts, not least because of its spectacular cargo. It also offers a diverse array of marine life. Schools of barracuda, large tuna, and snapper are frequently encountered. As an artificial reef, it also attracts countless coral fish. The stern with its cannons, the midships and forward sections, the bow and cargo, as well as the vehicles—the two locomotives, the tenders, and the water wagons—are all worth seeing. Currents around the wreck are moderate, occasionally strong. Visibility is generally moderate, and the wreck is often crowded with boats. The early morning hours are recommended as the best time to dive.

Gubal Island
Besides the attractive Ulysses wreck, Bluff Point boasts another, currently unknown, wreck to the north. Due to the prevailing strong currents, gorgonians and soft corals are particularly abundant, and barracudas and reef sharks frequently cross the diver's path. In an exceptionally beautiful, overgrown grotto below the anchorage, all kinds of cleaner shrimp, pipefish, and even frogfish can be discovered.
Rosalie Moller
The Rosalie Moller is considered one of the most beautiful wrecks in the northern Red Sea and lies off the west side of the large Gubal Island. It is renowned for its incredible abundance of small schooling fish. Adding to its allure is the atmospheric, almost pristine condition of the former coal transport ship, which rests as if parked on the seabed. Due to its depth, the wreck is unsuitable for beginners. Strong currents are rare at the wreck site.

Abu Nuhas
Also known as the "Ship Graveyard," who hasn't heard of the four wrecks of Abu Nuhas? This reef has more ships than any other in the area. The four wrecks lie on a sandy seabed on the north side of Abu Nuhas: the Giannis D, SS Carnatic, Chrisoula K, and Kimono M. A safe anchorage for liveaboard dive boats is located on the south side.
