Trip Overview
Over the span of a 10-night stay, prepare to be mesmerized by the wealth of marine life that inhabits this region. Lush reefs adorned with corals and gorgonians set the stage for an awe-inspiring spectacle, accompanied by a diverse array of fish species. Dive into underwater landscapes boasting dramatic pinnacles, sprawling ridges, walls, concealed caves, rock formations, and tranquil azure lagoons.
From the minute pygmy seahorse to the grandiose oceanic manta ray, the variety of creatures present here is astonishing. Witness vast schools of fusiliers drawing in tunas, trevallies, barracudas, and curious spadefish, while catching glimpses of sweetlips, groups of bump head parrotfish, and napoleon wrasses among other fascinating species.
Reef sharks gracefully navigate their domain, while the elusive carpet shark or Wobbegong lounges on corals or lurks beneath rocks amidst swirling clouds of glass-fish. Nighttime explorations may unveil sightings of the captivating walking shark (Epaulette shark), adding an extra layer of intrigue. Mantas gracefully glide through the waters, making appearances at three distinct dive sites, further enhancing the allure of the area.

Marine Life To Video
Raja Ampat showcases an extraordinary abundance of fish species, making it a hotspot for marine biodiversity. Dive into its waters and you may encounter an enchanting array of marine life, including wobbegong sharks, jacks, barracuda, Napoleon wrasse, trevally, bumphead parrotfish, pygmy seahorses, batfish, angelfish, butterflyfish, barramundi cod, and an impressive variety of nudibranchs.
As currents intensify in deeper waters, exploring reveals the presence of reef sharks at various sites, particularly notable locations like Blue Magic and Sardines. These sites also serve as gathering points for schooling fish, creating stunning congregations when currents are strong. In these moments, you might find yourself surrounded by swirling clouds of fusiliers and surgeonfish in the mid-water region, while vast numbers of sweetlips obscure the substantial coral heads below. It's an underwater spectacle that consistently leaves observers in awe.

After getting his instructor certification, Tim spent time teaching scuba in Malaysia and Vietnam.
