The Cachalo Liveaboard is based in Indonesia and operates diving itineraries throughout Raja Ampat, Komodo, the Banda Sea, and Alor. Guests can fly into one of several regional airports depending on their itinerary, including Sorong (SOQ) for Raja Ampat, Labuan Bajo (LBJ) for Komodo, Ambon (AMQ) for the Banda Sea, and Alor (ARD) for Alor itineraries.
Airport transfers to the liveaboard are available by private car at no additional cost. Transfer times and distances to the embarkation points vary by itinerary and are to be confirmed. Guests should check their itinerary for the correct arrival airport and recommended flight schedule when planning their trip.
Dive Overview
Indonesia offers exceptional diving diversity, and Cachalo's itineraries explore several of the country's most renowned regions. Raja Ampat is known for extraordinary marine biodiversity, colorful hard and soft coral reefs, large schools of fish, manta rays, sharks, and a variety of macro life. The region lies within the Coral Triangle and offers a mix of reef, muck, and mangrove diving.
Komodo is famous for exhilarating drift dives, strong currents, manta rays, sharks, large schools of fish, healthy coral reefs, and macro life. The Banda Sea and Alor offer additional opportunities for pelagic encounters, reef diving, and unusual marine life, making the routes well suited to divers looking to experience different sides of Indonesia on a liveaboard trip.
Accommodation Overview
The Cachalo Liveaboard accommodates up to 18 guests across 9 air-conditioned cabins arranged across the lower, main, and upper decks. Guests can choose among a variety of cabin options including standard rooms, deluxe rooms with balconies, and a VVIP stateroom. All cabins have private en suite bathrooms and are designed to provide a comfortable retreat between dives.
Food & Drinks
Meals are served buffet-style, with cuisine including Indonesian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Western dishes. The onboard culinary selection can also include Filipino, American, and Mexican dishes, with meals prepared using fresh local ingredients. Dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.
