Quad Cabin
The Quad Cabin on OceanQuest is perfect for small groups or families, accommodating up to four guests with four single beds. OceanQuest operates year-round on the Great Barrier Reef, with daily departures from Cairns, Australia. Guests embark and disembark at Marlin Marina, just a short distance from the city center.
Dive Overview
Diving the Great Barrier Reef offers access to the world’s largest coral reef system, stretching over 2,300 kilometers along Australia’s Queensland coast and encompassing an area so vast it can be seen from space. With more than 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands, the reef supports an extraordinary biodiversity that makes it one of the most celebrated dive destinations in the world. Divers can encounter over 1,500 species of fish, 400 types of coral, and an array of fascinating marine life ranging from tiny nudibranchs to manta rays, sea turtles, reef sharks, and even seasonal visitors like dwarf minke whales and humpback whales.

Accommodation Overview
OceanQuest offers a range of Double, Twin, and Quad cabins, each fitted with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, en suite bathrooms, and fresh towels, providing comfortable options for couples, friends, and groups. Guests can relax in well-appointed spaces after a day of diving, ensuring both comfort and convenience throughout their stay.
Food & Drinks
Meals aboard OceanQuest are freshly prepared by the onboard chef, with hearty breakfasts, satisfying lunches, and delicious dinners served either plated or buffet style. Guests can look forward to a variety of dishes, from local flavors to international favorites, always finished with a sweet treat to end the day. In addition to three full meals, snacks, biscuits, and hot beverages are included.
Dive Information
The Great Barrier Reef is a diver’s playground, offering an immense variety of sites that cater to every skill level and interest. Shallow coral gardens burst with color and provide excellent conditions for beginner divers and snorkelers, while deeper walls, swim-throughs, and bommies challenge experienced divers with stronger currents and more dramatic topography.
2 Day / 1 Night Itinerary
- Day 1
- 7:30–8:00am: Pick up from city accommodation (if booked) and check in at the dive centre at 319 Draper Street before transferring to the marina.
- 8:30am: Depart Cairns Marina on SeaQuest for two dive/snorkel sessions before transferring to OceanQuest.
- 2:30pm: Additional snorkel and dive sessions, plus time to relax on board.
- 6:00pm: Dinner is served.
- 6:30pm: Night dive available, or relax on board.
- 8:00pm: Dessert.
- 10:00pm: Bar closes.
- Day 2
- 7:30am: Breakfast with a full cooked selection.
- 8:30am: Dive or snorkel session.
- 10:30am: Dive or snorkel session.
- 12:00pm: Check out of cabin.
- 12:30pm: Lunch.
- 2:30pm: Transfer vessel arrives for return to Cairns.
- 3:00pm: Depart Outer Barrier Reef.
- 5:00pm (approx): Return to Cairns accommodation.
3 Day / 2 Night Itinerary
- Day 1
- 7:30–8:00am: Pick up from city accommodation (if booked) and check in at the dive centre on Draper Street, before transferring to the marina.
- 8:30am: Depart Cairns Marina and cruise out to the reef on the day trip vessel SeaQuest.
- 10:00am: Arrive at the reef for the first snorkel or dive on SeaQuest.
- 12:00pm: Enjoy lunch while the vessel moves to the second dive and snorkel site.
- 12:30pm: Second dive or snorkel opportunity on SeaQuest.
- 2:30pm: Transfer to OceanQuest and settle into cabins.
- 3:30pm: Third dive or snorkel session.
- 6:00pm: Dinner is served.
- 6:30pm: Gear up for a unique liveaboard evening dive experience, or relax on board.
- 8:00pm: Dessert is served.
- 10:00pm: Bar closes.
- Day 2
- 7:30am: Breakfast is served.
- 8:30am: First dive and snorkel session.
- 10:30am: Second dive and snorkel session.
- 12:30pm: Lunch is served.
- 3:30pm: Third dive and snorkel session.
- 6:00pm: Dinner.
- 6:30pm: Briefing followed by a night dive or fluoro dive.
- 8:00pm: Dessert is served.
- 10:00pm: Bar closes.
- Day 3
- 7:30am: Breakfast.
- 8:30am: Dive or snorkel session.
- 10:30am: Dive or snorkel session.
- 12:00pm: Check out of cabins.
- 12:30pm: Final lunch before boarding the transfer vessel for the trip back to Cairns.
- 3:00pm: Depart Outer Barrier Reef.
- 5:00pm (approx): Return to accommodation in Cairns.
