Ocean Sun Dive Resort has 14 bungalows in total: 10 Resort bungalows set in a tropical garden with views of Mount Agung, and 4 more affordable Homestay bungalows nearby for a smaller, simpler stay. All are air-conditioned with a private furnished balcony, a double bed, a minibar, a safe, free Wi-Fi, and an en-suite semi-open bathroom with hot water. Daily housekeeping and in-room massages are available on request, and breakfast is included with every stay. The resort sits in a tropical garden a short walk from Tulamben Beach, rather than directly on the sand.

To get to Ocean Sun Dive Resort, fly into Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar, Bali. From there, it's roughly a 3-hour scenic drive north to Tulamben, passing rice terraces and coastal villages along the way. The nearest town is Amlapura, the capital of Karangasem regency, about 30–45 minutes' drive from the resort. 

The resort arranges airport transfers for guests and can help plan the drive around your flight times, with stops along the route on request.

Tulamben sits on Bali's northeast coast, and it's best known for the USAT Liberty, a 120-metre WWII wreck that lies just off the black-sand beach. Ocean Sun Dive Resort puts guests right at the heart of this action, with the Liberty Wreck, Coral Garden, and Drop Off all reachable on foot from the resort. Beyond these, the local area holds 18 dive sites in total, from macro and muck spots to walls and a second wreck, plus day-trip access to Amed, Nusa Penida, Padang Bai, and Candidasa. Diving is guided in small groups of up to 4 divers per guide, run by an SSI Diamond Instructor Training Centre that's been family-run since 2008.

The resort has two restaurants to choose from. Chops & Hops serves hearty Western cuisine, including large portions of schnitzels, burgers, and steaks, with a view of Mount Agung. Slice & Brew is a more relaxed café and pizza bar that serves fresh coffee, wood-fired pizza, ramen, poke bowls, and healthy breakfast options, as well as fresh juices and cocktails. 

Dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice, and guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol. Stays include a Bed & Breakfast meal plan, with water, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and free drinking water provided throughout your stay.

The USAT Liberty Wreck lies just off Tulamben's black-sand beach, a 120-metre WWII cargo ship reachable on a short shore walk from the resort and descending to 27 metres. Nearby, also on foot, are Coral Garden, a shallow reef with coral bommies and a vibrant anemone field, ideal for beginners and macro fans, and Drop Off, a steep wall along a volcanic ridge with large gorgonian fans and schooling reef fish.

Beyond the walk-in sites, a short van or shore shuttle opens up more of Tulamben's 18 local dive sites, including muck and macro spots like Seraya and Bulakan, and the Boga Wreck, a 50-metre former coastguard vessel with cargo holds and a sunken Volkswagen. For those wanting more depth and current, Batu Kelebit and a handful of other sites are reached by local jukung boat, known for the area's best visibility and a chance at larger pelagic species.

Guests looking to explore further afield can add on day trips to Amed for reef and wall diving, Nusa Penida for reef mantas and seasonal mola mola, Padang Bai for sheltered macro sites, or Candidasa for current-swept walls and shark sightings.

   

Ocean Sun's dive center is an SSI Diamond Instructor Training Centre, family-run since 2008. Diving is guided in small groups, keeping the experience personal and flexible rather than tied to a fixed daily schedule. The center is set up for shore diving straight from the resort, with equipment transport handled by local porters for the walk down to the beach entry points.

Courses run the full range, from Basic Diver and Open Water through Advanced Adventurer and specialty programs like wreck, deep, and night diving, up to professional levels including Divemaster and Instructor Training. Technical divers are also catered for, and Mares SCR Horizon rebreather courses are available for those wanting longer, quieter dive times.
