Magdalena Bay Striped Marlin Sardine Run

The Magdalena Bay Striped Marlin Sardine Run is one of the Pacific’s most electrifying marine spectacles. Each October and November, guests have the rare chance to witness striped marlin, sea lions, dolphins, and mobula rays hunting massive sardine bait balls in shallow, clear waters—ideal for intimate, surface-level encounters. Fast-paced and dynamic, the action unfolds while snorkeling from small pangas, offering thrilling, up-close views without the need for scuba gear. 

Set in the remote fishing village of San Carlos, this experience is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers alike. With no tanks, deep dives, or long boat rides required, guests are immersed in nature’s raw drama, just inches away from the marlin’s shimmering charge.
