Maldives Dive Overview

Diving in the Maldives is known for its diversity. From tiny nudibranchs and hard to spot ghost pipe fish, through eels, turtles, big schools of snappers, fusiliers and reef sharks to our favorite manta rays and whale sharks are seen all year round. Water temperature: Water temperature varies from 80F (27 Celsius) in the wet season to 86F (30 Celsius) in the dry season. 3mm wetsuit recommended

The Horizon III prides itself on its focus on safe diving. With 4 dive masters, the average dive ratio is 1 dive master to 6 divers which is very rare in the Maldives. All the dives are conducted from a spacious and fully equipped dive Dhoni. The Blue Horizon III offers a variety of itineraries that include shark dives, channel diving and manta cleaning stations. As the southern atolls of the Maldives are some of the least explored and untouched areas, the marine life here is extremely abundant. Divers can expect to see whale sharks, silkies, hammerheads, tiger and grey sharks.

Dive Itineraries

  • Addu to Huvadhoo (7N)This itinerary is perfect for adventure-seeking divers who enjoy current and channel dives. Aside from the abundant marine life, divers can also expect to see WWII wrecks called British loyalty. Mantas, tiger sharks, hammer heads, thresher sharks, whale sharks, grey reef sharks, white tip sharks, nurse sharks, zebra sharks, oceanic blacktip sharks, guitar sharks, turtles, and eagle rays can be seen during the trip.
  • Male'-Vaavu-Ari-Male' (7N) - This itinerary is also called the "Classic Atolls" and includes something for everyone. Guests will be sure to enjoy the Maldivian highlights such as sharks, rays, napoleons, mantas, and exciting wrecks.
  • Male' to Laamu Atoll (7N) - This cruise is perfect for guests who enjoy channel dives. Here, it is possible to see all kinds of sharks as well as eagle rays, green turtles, and exquisite hard corals. (Includes a domestic flight from Male' to Laamu Atoll).
  • Laamu to Male' Atoll (7N) - The reverse of the Male' to Laamu Atoll, this cruise is still perfect for guests who enjoy channel dives. Here, it is possible to see all kinds of sharks as well as eagle rays, green turtles, and exquisite hard corals. (Includes a domestic flight from Laamu to Male' Atoll).
  • Laamu to Huvadhoo (7N) - Similar to the two previous itineraries, this cruise is perfect for dive channel lovers. It is also possible to see all kinds of sharks known to the Maldives. There is also a good possibility of sighting eagle rays, green turtles, and fantastic hard coral. (Extra domestic flights charges are applicable from Male to Laamu and from Huvadhoo to Male).
