Crystal Blue Resort
Crystal Blue Resort is a great place for muck diving, especially for photographers. I went to the resort for 11 days in January 2018. They pick you up at the airport In Manilla and drive you for 2 to 3 hours to the resort. The resort is on the smaller side, creating a nice personal atmosphere. Some of the rooms are a hike up steps (I was at the top of the stairs) so if you prefer not to climb stairs keep that in mind when picking a room. The mattress are very firm. It seems to be the norm when traveling to this area of the world. Mosquitoes can be bad. Bring bug spray. They burn incense in the halls at night which seems to help. At night dogs barking and roosters can be heard at times. I am a light sleeper but you do get used to it, plus I was so tired from all the great diving it didn’t seem to matter. There is a wonderful camera room for photographers. This is really a great place for any macro photographers.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They remember your name and the kitchen staff even remembered where I preferred to sit and what I preferred to have to drink. I was pleasantly surprised with the food. Often at dive resorts the food is less than desirable. Not here. The food was outstanding. The diving staff was amazing, tending to our gear, finding lots of interesting critters, and even helping me with my photography. The dive boats are very comfortable and well organized. I hope to go back to this resort. I highly recommend. it.
