The Scubaqua Dive Center is situated on the secluded island of St. Eustatius in the Caribbean. It provides a distinctive and pristine diving experience. Shielded from excessive tourism, this hidden gem preserves the enchanting atmosphere of the Caribbean as it was a few decades ago. St. Eustatius is home to a protected marine park, where vibrant reefs thrive, offering an underwater sanctuary that reflects the untouched natural beauty of the region's past.
To reach the dive center guests must first fly to St. Maarten (SXM.) From there, guests can take another domestic flight to St. Eustatius' F. D. Roosevelt airport (EUX) or ride the ferry.
As you dive beneath the surface, you'll be transported to a time when the Caribbean's reefs were pristine and teeming with life. The island's prominent feature is the striking volcano known as "the Quill", which commands attention with its impressive crater. The volcanic activity has shaped the underwater landscape, leaving behind a network of lava flows and blocks that have become adorned with vibrant coral and sponges. The fusion of these remarkable reefs with an abundance of historical dive sites and sunken wrecks makes St. Eustatius a true paradise for divers. The Scubaqua Dive Center partners with multiple resorts and lodges that are conveniently located near the dive center.
The Old Gin House is a charming waterfront establishment situated close to the Scubaqua Dive Center. This historical hotel offers a unique experience with its restored features and picturesque location. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities, including a beautifully renovated bar, an ocean terrace, a welcoming lobby, and a refreshing pool. The pool, complete with towel service, is nestled in the hotel's garden area, adjacent to the garden view rooms.
Accommodation options at the Old Gin House are divided into four categories. There are fourteen Garden View Rooms, two Oceanfront Rooms, two Apartments, and two One-Bedroom Royal Suites. Each room is tastefully furnished, featuring large king-size mahogany beds and colonial-style furniture. Modern conveniences such as free WiFi, air conditioning, and cable TV are provided in all rooms. The oceanfront rooms and suites also include a small fridge for added convenience.
At the Golden Rock, visitors awake in luxurious suites, affording them breathtaking views of the captivating Caribbean Sea. These spacious accommodations are meticulously designed to accommodate 2 to 4 people, showcasing a stylish interior complemented by a private balcony or terrace. Throughout their stay at this esteemed 4-star resort on St. Eustatius, guests have access to an array of exceptional amenities. The resort boasts a lavish outdoor pool complete with a sun terrace, a well-equipped fitness room, a tranquil massage room, a versatile soccer field/tennis court, a delightful mini golf course, and a charming playground for the little ones. The convenience of daily grocery shopping is offered at the reception store, ensuring a seamless experience. Furthermore, the availability of room service and a bus service for transportation around the island ensures that guests' time at Golden Rock is synonymous with relaxation and ease.
The Deluxe Rooms exude comfort, providing guests with ample space and a touch of elegance. Spanning 40 square meters (130 square feet), these accommodations afford a sense of privacy, along with breathtaking ocean views and a kitchenette that enhances the homely ambiance. The room is fully air-conditioned and also features a spacious ensuite bathroom.
For those in search of the ultimate sense of belonging, the Suites present an immersive experience. Encompassing an expansive 80 square meters (260 square feet), these carefully crafted living spaces feature a full kitchen, a separate master bedroom, and panoramic vistas of the ocean, resulting in a haven of tranquility and indulgence. The Villas also havedirect access to the resorts second pool, pool bar, as well as breathtaking oceanfront views.
The Golden Rock also offers One and Two-Bedroom Lodges. This accommodation is perfect for divers, families, or close friends. The one-bedroom lodge is 50 square meters while the two-bedroom lodge is over 70 square meters. The lodges feature an elegantly appointed living area, separate bedroom(s), a large bathroom, and a kitchenette. Each lodge also comes with a little garden and a private porch.
Located on a four-acre property overlooking the Atlantic, Quill Gardens is a five-bedroom villa that offers its own little corner of paradise. Each bedroom is outfitted with a king-sized beds, an ensuite bathroom, a fridge, and a TV. Separate single beds are also available on request. Guests can also enjoy the view from the swimming pool and spacious patio.
The Scubaqua Dive Center operates as a dive shop "by divers, for divers," ensuring guests have a fun and enjoyable experience during their holiday. Guests are the priority at this dive center as they provide custom diving experiences and small dive groups to ensure safety. The usual schedule includes two dives in the morning and one in the afternoon; although there is no limit to the number of dives within decompression limits. All dives are guided and abide by marine park rules.
