Aurora Liveaboard Reviews

Aurora was a first-class experience from start to finish! Their team arrived on time and handled everyone’s luggage efficiently. I believe all 18 guests had stayed at the Swiss-Belhotel. They had several large taxis arranged to pick everyone up at once along with all the luggage. It was a quick ride over to the marina where their staff loaded the boat tenders with our luggage, ourselves, and the other guests. Then it was a short ride across the bay to where Aurora was docked. Arrival on the boat itself was handled exceptionally well. They took care of the luggage, our rooms were comfortable, and everything was thoroughly explained, including schedules, what to do, how to use the bathrooms, how the dive deck worked, and what to expect. Everything was organized in advance, and it all ran very smoothly. We sailed overnight on most evenings and used the tenders for actual diving. The diving itself was exactly as described. There was quite a bit of current, manageable but still strong. The cruise director really enjoyed jumping into the current at the edge of islands or seamounts. He was extremely knowledgeable about what would happen during each dive and where the massive schools of fish would be. This all depended on where we entered the water. Each dive was preceded by a briefing with television, video, pictures, and drawings, giving an excellent idea of what to expect. The dive deck operated like a well-oiled machine and was extremely efficient. I would give that 100 percent. Food on Aurora was fantastic, plentiful and delicious. The beds were comfortable, and rooms were attended to daily with fresh towels and sheets. The staff took immaculate care of the boat, constantly cleaning and wiping down every area. They did an amazing job not only in the main dining area but also when meals were moved, sometimes up to the sun deck where we dined under the stars. One evening, they even set up the entire operation on a deserted beach under the stars for cocktails and barbecue. This was absolutely fantastic and completely unexpected. It was a major effort to make that happen. All in all, the Aurora experience was worth every penny and more. The staff were great, and the boat was in excellent condition. You could tell they were proud of their operation and knew exactly what to do. The cruise director was both fantastic and knowledgeable. He dove with us every day in addition to another guide, giving us the extra benefit of his presence at all times. He was a super fun and knowledgeable person. I would recommend this boat to many clients, as they would enjoy it immensely. I am already looking forward to returning on this boat in 2027, and I am not just saying that.
