Awera Resort has a collection of private villas set among tropical gardens, some directly on the beach and others with ocean views. Each villa has its own infinity pool, terrace/lounge area, and private garden. The wooden, thatched-roof villas have air conditioning, hot water showers, Wi-Fi, and organic bath products. Housekeeping is daily. There are options for every group size, from one-bedroom villas for couples to larger villas for families and friends traveling together. Rates include three à la carte meals a day.

Awera Resort & Spa is in the Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra, Indonesia. The only way in is through Padang Airport (Minangkabau International Airport - PDG), with easy flights from Jakarta (CGK) or Kuala Lumpur (KUL). The resort can arrange a transfer for an additional fee.  It takes about 3 hours by private car and fast ferry.

Resort Map

Awera Resort & Spa has an on-site dive center, so guests can go diving without leaving the resort. Dive highlights include reefs, manta rays, turtles, and plenty of macro critters. All dives are guided, with a maximum of 5 divers per divemaster, and there is no minimum certification requirement. The dive center provides courses and equipment rentals, and it has 15L and yoke tanks. The standard villa rate does not include diving, so it must be booked separately.

Meals at Awera Resort are served at the COCCÜ restaurant, which serves Indonesian and international cuisine. The food is served and ordered from an à la carte menu. The standard rate includes full board, water, tea, and coffee. Vegetarian, vegan, and celiac diets can be accommodated with advanced notice. The resort has a bar, but guests are not allowed to bring their own alcohol.

The Mentawai Islands are best known for surf, but there is also lovely diving beneath the surface. Most of the dive sites around Awera Resort are still untouched and far from the crowds. The waters have reefs, manta rays, turtles, and colorful macro critters. There are dive sites for different experience levels, from calm, shallow spots for newer divers to more open-water sites for experienced divers. The dive team chooses sites each day based on the weather, tide, and swell, so every dive suits the conditions and the group.

The resort has an on-site dive center. It offers guided dives with a maximum of 5 divers per divemaster, equipment rental, and 15L and yoke tanks. Dive courses are available, and no minimum certification is required. Diving is not included in the standard villa rate and is booked separately.
