Dive Overview

Nestled in the Mamanuca Island group, Matamanoa is situated in a marine sanctuary and surrounded by pristine coral reefs that are home to some of the most breath-taking biodiversity, including spectacular table corals, enormous gorgonian fans, turtles, reef sharks and multi-hued reef fish of every shape and size.

Dive Sites

The sites range from 9 to 30 meters in depth, although most dives are around 18 meters with shallower depths for repetitive dives. Visibility is generally between 20 and 40 meters and water temperature ranges from 26 Celsius in winter (July/August) to 31 Celsius in summer (Jan/Feb). Fiji is fast becoming the diving capital of the Pacific and the advantage of diving with Deep Blue Diving & Water Sports is their proximity to some world class sites. Some of their particular favorites include:

• Bird Rock Wall Only a 2-minute boat ride from the dive center, this stunningly encrusted wall offers up a kaleidoscope of colors and reef dwellers of every shape and size.
• Sunset & Lovers Bay Matamanoas infamous house reef, a marine protected area, boasts spectacular hard corals and a myriad of colorful marine critters. Ideal for photographers, beginners and night diving.
• Supermarket World famous Shark Encounter dive. This site has been featured in most leading dive magazines.
• Gotham City Batman doesnt visit, but batfish do guard this site which is a soft coral delight featuring all the colors of the rainbow.
