Sunshine Bay Hotel is located in Matemwe, on the northeast coast of Zanzibar, approximately 56km from the nearest city. 

By Air: The nearest airport is Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ). The resort is around 1 hour and 20 minutes from the airport by road. Airport transfers can be arranged on request (surcharge applies).

By Road: From Zanzibar Town (Stone Town), the resort is approximately 56km northeast, through the island's countryside and out to the quiet shores of Matemwe. Private taxis and organized transfers are available.

Divers exploring Zanzibar's tropical Indian Ocean waters will be in for a treat with an array of marine life to discover. Sunshine Bay partners with Dive Point Zanzibar, a PADI 5 Star Resort that is right across from the beautiful Mnemba Atoll, which is one of the best places to dive in Zanzibar. Divers can see a lot of different reef fish in the inshore reef sites. These include ribbon eels, fire dartfish, octopus, moray eels, and giant groupers. Sunshine Bay's restaurant serves international cuisine with touches of Swahili flavor, drawing on the spices Zanzibar is known for. Breakfast is served as a buffet for guests on a meal plan, or a la carte for those on a bed and breakfast basis. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed by the pool or at the seaview restaurant. Macro lovers will find plenty to get excited about too, with nudibranchs, seahorses, shrimps, ribbon eels, fire dartfish, and the rare Rhinopias. Dolphins are regularly spotted on the surface, and during migration season, humpback whales make an appearance as well.
