Dive Overview

Beqa Lagoon is best known for its shark diving, but the reefs here have a lot more to offer, including soft coral gardens, wrecks, and great macro critters for divers of all skill levels. The highlight experience is the Aqua-Trek Beqa shark dive, where divers can encounter up to 8 species of shark in a single dive, including bull sharks. It's one of the most thrilling and consistent shark dives in Beqa Lagoon, available year-round.

Dive Information

Beqa Lagoon has over 30 dive sites, ranging from the world-famous shark dive to soft coral pinnacles, tunnels, and wrecks. Here are some of the highlights:

The Bistro is the signature shark dive — a baited, open-water dive (no cage) where divers kneel on the reef around the perimeter of the site and encounter up to 8 species of shark, including bull sharks, whitetip, blacktip, lemon, nurse, grey reef, silvertip, and even the occasional tiger shark. Over 300 species of fish have been recorded here.

Ceasars Rock is a series of pinnacles rising from 30m to 5m, riddled with tunnels and caverns and blanketed in colorful soft corals. A top spot for macro photography, with nudibranchs, lionfish, leopard sharks, and sweetlips all common sightings.

ET/Cyclops features a lone pinnacle with a large tunnel that leads into two separate chambers, with walls covered in soft corals, sea fans, and cup corals — best experienced with a torch.

Tasu II Wreck is a 200-ton Taiwanese fishing vessel deliberately sunk in 1994. Now encrusted in hard and soft corals, fans, and sponges, it's a great macro dive with nudibranchs, pipefish, and garden eels.

Pearl Rock is a cluster of six pinnacles at around 18m, all covered in soft corals — a reliable, easy dive with long bottom times.

John's Tunnel is a triple-feature dive combining a reef, a 30ft soft coral-lined tunnel, and a largely intact wreck — one of the most varied single dives in the lagoon.

Dive Center Information

Aqua-Trek Beqa is based onsite at The Pearl South Pacific and is one of Fiji's most established dive operations. The dive center is best known for its world-famous shark encounter – a baited, guided dive in Beqa Lagoon.

All dives are fully guided with a 6:1 diver-to-guide ratio, keeping groups small and attentive. The dive center carries DIN and Yoke tanks, offers equipment rental, and runs courses for divers looking to get certified or upgrade their qualification. Nitrox is available for an additional fee.
