Scuba divers exploring Zanzibar and Tanzania will have access to the full catalog of tropical Indian Ocean species throughout the region’s balmy waters. A myriad of reef fish adorns the inshore reef sites, with ribbon eels, fire dartfish, octopus, moray eels, and giant groupers commonplace. Many larger species also patrol the inner reef walls and barracuda, yellowfin tuna, and large schools of trevally are not an uncommon sight in the blue. Reef sharks and dolphins can be spotted year-round.

Sunshine Marine Lodge partners with Dive Point Zanzibar, a PADI-certified dive center with experienced instructors who offer a range of courses, from beginner to professional level. The center provides all the necessary equipment and takes guests to explore the vibrant marine life of the Indian Ocean.
With over 20 dive sites in the area, the center offers a variety of diving experiences, including reef dives, wall dives, and night dives. Divers can encounter an array of tropical species, including reef fish, ribbon eels, fire dartfish, octopus, moray eels, groupers, barracudas, yellowfin tuna, trevally, reef sharks, dolphins, rich macro life including many nudibranchs, shrimps, seahorses and even Rhinopias. Humpback whales can also be seen during the right season.
