Connect to Rodrigues: A short flight of about 1.5 hours takes you to Sir Gaëtan Duval Airport (RRG) in Rodrigues.
Airport transfer: Shuttle/minibus transfers are available for an additional fee. The ride takes about 30 minutes.

Dive Overview

Alex Salamander Diving runs guided boat dives around Rodrigues, a quiet island known for its pristine, uncrowded reefs, with a diver-to-guide ratio of 1:5. All dives are guided, and divers should hold at least an Open Water certification or equivalent. Dives are done as drift dives, so expect some current that brings the marine life to you. Along the way, you'll see healthy coral reefs, rays, sea turtles, giant trevally, and moray eels. The team dives in the north, south, and south east of the island, tailoring each day's location to the conditions and your experience.

Dive Information

Alex Salamander Diving dives across Rodrigues, with a different feel in each part of the island. The team plans each day's sites based on the weather, sea conditions, and your level of experience.

North: This is the base and most common diving area. It is more sheltered, with easier boat access and consistently good weather. Baladirou reef is one of the most well-known attractions here.

South and southeast: These require a longer boat ride and more exposed conditions, so the sites are quieter and less dived, with some of the most pristine on the island.

Currents: Since all diving is drift diving, you will always feel some movement. The outer passes and drop-offs have stronger currents and are suitable for more experienced divers, while the lagoon is gentler.
