Pirate Divers is based in Sitio Papalihan, Concepcion, Busuanga. Coron is reached by plane via Busuanga Airport (USU), with daily direct flights from Cebu and Clark. There are no longer nonstop flights from Manila, so guests coming from Manila typically connect through Cebu, or take a bus to Clark International Airport and fly from there. Guests can also take a ferry from Manila to Coron, Palawan, a less expensive and culturally enlightening alternative to flying.

Coron, Palawan is the perfect dive spot for seeing teaming aquatic life and visiting untouched dive sites. The province is also known for the many historically significant Japanese wrecks that were sunk there during World War II. With striking undersea wildlife and comfortable diving temperatures, Coron ensures an adventurous and breathtaking adventure.

Busuanga Bay Lodge

The boutique resort is truly the ultimate tropical escape and is only a 45-minute plane ride from major cities such as Manila, Cebu, and Boracay.

The Busuanga Bay Lodge offers 41 guestrooms in 6 accommodation types: The 2 Bedroom Villa, the Bayview Bungalow, the Clubhouse Suite, the Clubhouse Superior, the Hilltop Suite, and the Waterfront King. While they differ in style and furnishings, all rooms capture the natural splendor of the magical island that is Palawan.

Coron Overview

The Coron region occupies the eastern half of Busuanga Island, part of the Palawan Province of the Philippines. In the south of the island, Coron Town Proper is a focal point for tourists and divers, offering easy access to dive Coron Bay, nearby Coron Island, and Apo Reef.

Boasting arguably the best wreck-diving in Asia, Coron Bay is the final resting place of 11 Japanese supply ships, bombed by Allied forces in 1944. Many of the wrecks are still in excellent condition, featuring well-preserved fixtures and fittings and piles of ammunition that provide plenty of intrigue for visiting divers. In the intervening years since WWII, the regions rich marine life has moved in, and each wreck is now a vibrant artificial reef teeming with colorful life.

As if this wasnt enough, Coron also boasts some fascinating underwater topography, with vast caverns and limestone caves creating maze-like reefs and several salt/freshwater lagoons that make for a unique diving experience.

To the northeast of Busuanga Island in the Mindoro Strait, Apo Reef Natural Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate consisting of 13 square miles of continuous coral reef system including Apo Island. Often referred to as 'little Tubbataha', the reefs boast colorful walls and an abundance of marine life, big and small. Apo Island in this reef system shouldnt be confused with the island of the same name in Coron Bay. Day trip diving in Apo Reef is also available from Mindoro Island to the east.

Coron may be the Philippines' best-kept secret, but this wont last much longer as increasing numbers of tourists choose to experience the amazing diving and explore the regions wild limestone landscape.
