Scuba Malta

Scuba Malta is located at Portomaso Marina, Level -5, St. Julian's, Malta.

By Car - St. Julian's is easily accessible from most parts of Malta. Portomaso Marina has parking available nearby. Just go to the Portomaso complex and follow the signs to Level -5.

By Bus - Malta's public bus network connects St. Julian's to Valletta and the majority of other municipalities. Several routes stop near Portomaso Marina.

By Taxi/ Ride-share - Taxis and ride-sharing applications like eCabs and Bolt run throughout Malta and may drop you off right at the Portomaso Marina gate.

Malta is one of Europe's best diving destinations, with crystal-clear Mediterranean waters, visibility regularly hitting 30 meters, and a mix of wrecks, caves, reefs, and drop-offs within easy reach of the shore. Scuba Malta is based directly on the waterfront at Portomaso Marina in St. Julian's, running guided dives, try dives, and courses for all levels across Malta, Gozo, and Comino.

Malta's diving season runs from April to November, with water temperatures reaching 26°C in summer. Visibility is consistently excellent year-round, often exceeding 30 meters. Most dive sites are shore-based, so you can step right in without needing a boat.

Wrecks

Malta has some of the best wreck diving in the Mediterranean. The HMS Maori is a World War II destroyer sitting at around 14 meters, making it accessible for most certified divers. The Um El Faroud is a large oil tanker at 20 to 35 meters and one of Malta's most popular dives. At Cirkewwa, the P29 patrol boat and the MV Rozi tugboat were both scuttled as artificial reefs and are great for divers of all levels.

Caves and Reefs

Ghar Lapsi is a well-lit cave system with multiple openings in the ceiling that let sunlight in, making it a beautiful dive even for those new to cave diving. Anchor Bay Cave, also known as Scorpion Cave, is considered one of Malta's top cavern dives. Cirkewwa also has an impressive underwater arch at around 11 meters.

Gozo and Comino

A short trip from Malta, Gozo and Comino offer some of the best diving in the area. The Blue Hole in Gozo is a famous natural rock formation that drops into open water, popular with experienced divers. The MV Karwela, a scuttled passenger ferry, is one of Gozo's most visited wrecks. Comino's reefs and bays are calmer and great for beginners.
