This exclusive diving expedition offers a rare opportunity to observe Great White Sharks in their natural habitat off the coast of Australia. Led by renowned expedition leader Amos Nachoum and the legendary Rodney Fox, this trip promises an unparalleled experience with these majestic predators. With only 9 guests, participants will have intimate encounters, utilizing innovative diving methods to attract up to four sharks around the cages.
Divers will explore both surface and lower cages, set 60 to 80 feet below, allowing for unique observational angles of the sharks’ complex behavior and hierarchy. Each day will culminate with shared stories and a review of the day’s captures, creating lasting memories and a deeper understanding of these fascinating creatures.
Marine Life To Photograph
This expedition offers a unique opportunity to photograph a variety of marine life, with the highlight being the awe-inspiring Great White Sharks. Divers will have the chance to capture stunning images of these majestic predators as they glide gracefully around the cages, showcasing their power and beauty up close. In addition to Great Whites, the waters also host a variety of other marine life, including different species of fish and seabirds, providing a diverse range of subjects for underwater photography. The combination of clear visibility and close encounters ensures an unforgettable photographic experience.
Sample Itinerary
- Depart from your hometown to Adelaide
- Day 1: Leave your country for Australia
- Day 2: Arrive in Adelaide
- Day 3: Flight to Port Lincoln and transfer to the vessel in the afternoon.
- Day 4 9: Six (6) days of cage diving with the Australian Great whites.
- Day 10: Return to Port Lincoln, fly up to Adelaide and overnight.
- Day 11: Departure to your home or next destination
Weather Conditions
During the expedition, guests can expect water temperatures ranging from 15 to 17C (59 to 62F), creating a refreshing yet manageable environment for diving with Great White Sharks. The cooler water is typical for this region, making it essential for divers to wear appropriate wetsuits to stay comfortable during extended periods in the water.
Visibility is excellent, ranging from 15 to 20 meters (45 to 80 feet), which allows for clear views of the magnificent Great Whites and the surrounding marine environment. These favorable visibility conditions are ideal for observing the sharks' behavior and for photography, ensuring guests can fully appreciate the underwater spectacle.

Amos Nachoum
Amos Nachoum is an internationally acclaimed wildlife and underwater photographer and explorer. With a career spanning more than four decades, he has dedicated his life to capturing extraordinary images of elusive aquatic and land animals and inspiring others to understand and respect the natural world.
His extraordinary work has won him numerous awards. Notably, he is a two-time winner of the prestigious BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. His work has also been recognized by National Geographic, the World Press Photo, and the United Nations Environmental Program, among others. His images have appeared in prominent publications worldwide, including National Geographic Magazine, Time, Life, The New York Times, Cond Nast Traveler, and many others.
As an expedition guide, Amos is known for his meticulous planning and vast experience navigating challenging environments. He instills confidence in his team members, always prioritizing safety and respect for the natural world. How to Get There
Flight Information
To begin the Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions, guests will travel to Port Lincoln, famously known as the Seafood Capital of Australia. Accessible via a short flight from Adelaide, Port Lincoln serves as the starting point for this remarkable journey. Once on board, the vessel will set sail approximately 40 nautical miles south to the Neptune Islands, where the true adventure of diving with Great White Sharks unfolds. This scenic voyage through the Southern Ocean prepares guests for the thrilling encounters awaiting them in the waters around the Neptune Islands.

Antarctica Trip Recap March 2025
Bluewater’s March 2025 Antarctica expedition took travelers from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia before embarking on the M/V Ortelius. Highlights included diving in the Beagle Channel, exploring iceberg-filled waters, and witnessing wildlife like penguins, whales, and leopard seals.
