The Andaman Sea side of Thailand offers the best diving. Thats basically all the way down the west coast of Thailand from the border with Burma to the border with Malaysia. That area includes Koh Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Krabi, Koh Lanta, Koh Taratuo, the Similan Islands, Surin Islands, Richelieu Rock, Koh Bon, and Koh Tachai. The best time to dive this area is during the northeast monsoon from November to April although many areas can be dived year round. The most famous diving in all of Thailand is the Similan Islands in the Andaman Sea. The best way to dive the Similans is by liveaboard dive boat departing from either Khao Lak or Phuket.

This short 3 day / 2 night trip explores the Phi Phi Island group, which lies in Phang-Nga bay about 45km east of Phuket. Two main islands make up Phi Phi with the largest island of Phi Phi Don being a few kilometres north of Phi Phi Lae. These remarkable islands are surrounded by breathtaking limestone cliffs rising vertically into the sky, where tropical vegetation takes over at the crest. There are many beautiful beaches, coves and bays which make for dramatic scenery to enjoy surface intervals during your liveaboard vacation in Thailand.
The Phi Phi National Marine Park and the southern islands of Koh Haa, Hin Daeng and Hin Muang offer pinnacles, incredible limestone walls full of healthy soft corals and gorgonians full of macro life ready to be discovered by you! Thats not all! There are great chances to find mantas, whale sharks, leopard sharks, black tip sharks as well as schools of barracudas and snappers.
The Marine National Parks of the Similan Islands and the Surin Islands offer over 200 species of hard corals spread between walls and coral gardens and pinnacles where turtles, giant trevallies, huge schools of jacks, barracudas, and all kinds of tropical fish patrol. Manta rays and leopard sharks are also a common close encounter. All this as well as one of the best dive sites in the world, Richelieu Rock, and the chance to see majestic whale sharks!
If you join the southern Thailand itineraries above then you have The Best of Thailand all in a fantastic single 10-night itinerary. TIP: From November 2018 to the end of May 2019 you can book a 4 and 6-night cruise together to make a 10-night single trip.
Still relatively unexplored and undiscovered, Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago offers species for all kinds of underwater fauna lovers! From mantas, dogtooth tunas, and barracudas to frogfish, cuttlefish, and seahorses. Macro lovers can expect to see all types of crabs, shrimps, and some rare macro interactions. Different kinds of sharks such as leopard sharks, grey sharks, blacktip sharks, nurse sharks, and whale sharks also populate the area. The reefs in the area are very impressive, not only because of the beauty of the corals, gorgonians and table corals but also because of their size!
