I visited Papua Paradise in May 2024, and it has quickly become one of my favorite resorts in Raja Ampat. I stayed in a Deluxe Bungalow over the water, which was beautiful and spacious. Although there is no AC, the nights were cool enough that I didn't find it necessary. A major advantage of Papua Paradise is their daily transfer service to the resort, offering flexibility that most other resorts in Raja Ampat do not. As a macro diver, I loved the local dive sites, discovering numerous critters I hadn't seen before. There is plenty of marine life, but the famous sites of the Dampier Strait are further away. However, the resort can organize day trips there, which include three dives and a lunch on one of the nearby beautiful islands. The staff are incredibly welcoming, learning and using your name from the moment you arrive. They greet you warmly upon arrival and departure, always with a smile. The massages are exceptional, offered in a beautiful setting. The food is served buffet style, with western dishes for lunch and local cuisine in the evening. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Papua Paradise, and I'm already secretly planning my next visit!

This is my new favorite hotel in the world! We loved staying above the water in our bungalow and watching the sunset every night. Everyone on the staff remembered our names when they greeted us each day of our 6-day stay. The snorkeling was the best, right in front, or on the backside if it was breezy. We saw Octopus, Cuttlefish, sharks, beautiful coral, and abundant schools of fish, just snorkeling in front of our bungalow! We also enjoyed kayaking and diving. The diving was spectacular—a WWII plane wreck, octopus actually mating, manta rays swooping just above me at a cleaning station, and wobeggong sharks, and that was just in 4 dives! The food was buffet style and had plenty of variety at each meal. We loved having fresh fruit at every meal. This is also great to get away from it all because the internet is intermittent, so plan on being really offline and living in the moment.

Raja Ampat is amazing no matter how you get there, but my first experience was divine when I arrived at Papua Paradise. They take care of you the whole way. When I landed in Sorong they took me to a hotel where I could shower, nap and eat that day, and later took me to the wharves to get on a boat to make the crossing to the resort. From here it's boutique diving and amazing service. My room on stilts over the water was serene. All the construction is authentic and you feel like you are in another world. There is no aircon and in the day it doesn't matter, but at night they close off the room from the deck and prepare it with malaria netting and mosquito repellant. There is a fan but it can be a bit hot. Hey, it's Eco. The food was amazing, just icing on the cake. The diving was well organized and the divemasters were top rate at finding you whatever you have a hankering for. Every service is top-notch and when they sing to you as you leave on the boat, it brought tears to my eyes.

I stayed here in March 2016 and had a lovely time. The bungalows are absolutely gorgeous. The only downside (for some people) is that they don't have AC. However, I never felt like I needed it with the night breeze, and mosquitos didn't seem to be an issue in the room, especially with the mosquito net.The food was buffet style, tasty, and plentiful. The dive op was excellent. The only downside is that Papua Paradise is located a bit farther from the best dive sites of the Dampier Strait. The boats can still go there, but you're more likely to dive the sites around Papua Paradise, which are still excellent! And they will go up to the other sites, it's just a longer boat ride.A huge benefit to staying here is, unlike the other resorts, Papua Paradise offers transfers to and from Sorong every day of the week.I really enjoyed staying here and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
