Explore Raja Ampat
Raja Ampat, located in Indonesia’s West Papua province, sits at the heart of the Coral Triangle and is renowned for having some of the most biodiverse reefs on the planet. Meaning “Four Kings” in Indonesian, the region’s name refers to its four main islands—Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo—surrounded by thousands of smaller islets and cays.
Sorong, the gateway to Raja Ampat, is only a 90-minute flight from Manado. Several daily flight options make it easy to connect Lembeh and Raja Ampat for a fantastic experience.
Diving in Raja Ampat can be experienced either aboard a liveaboard or from a resort. Liveaboards range from simple, budget-friendly vessels to some of the most luxurious dive yachts in the world, allowing divers to explore remote sites across the archipelago. Resorts, meanwhile, offer a land-based option that pairs comfortable accommodations with easy access to world-class reefs. Many resorts in 2025 also focus on sustainability, offering conservation workshops and reef-restoration projects while supporting local efforts to safeguard biodiversity following the recent suspension of nickel mining.
