About Maverick Surf and Dive Resort Maldives
Maverick Hotel sits on a private beach in Laamu Atoll, one of the quietest and least-developed corners of the Maldives. The resort has 25 tented lodges set right on the sand, with a surf break you can paddle out to from the beach and a house reef just steps away.
Accommodation Overview
Maverick has 25 air-conditioned tented lodges spread along the beach, each with its own private outdoor bathroom and alfresco living area. They're generously sized at 36 sqm indoors, so while they work well for a family of four, couples will have plenty of room to spread out. The style is relaxed but quality with wooden furniture, king beds, and proper cotton linens rather than anything too polished or corporate. Each lodge comes with a dedicated butler, minibar, fast WiFi, and organic bath amenities.

How To Get There
To get to Maverick, fly into Malé International Airport (MLE) and take a 45-minute domestic flight to Kadhdhoo Airport (KDO) in Laamu Atoll. From there, it's a 20-minute speedboat ride to the resort. For those who prefer a more scenic approach, seaplane transfers from Malé are also an option.
The resort offers complimentary airport transfers and can help arrange the full journey to line up with your flights.
Dive Overview
Laamu Atoll is one of the least-dived atolls in the Maldives, and the sites reflect that — healthy reefs, good visibility, and no crowds. The resort sits right on the Mundoo channel, with a house reef accessible straight from the beach. Mantas, reef sharks, turtles, and dolphins are all common sightings, and the channel drift dives are some of the best in the country.

Food & Drinks
The beachfront restaurant serves international western cuisine with a strong focus on local and sustainably sourced ingredients — fresh seafood caught daily, local produce, and meat and dairy imported directly from the farm. Meal plans are available in half-board, full-board, and all-inclusive options.
For drinks, the resort has Dhinasha, a floating bar on a boat where you can catch sunset cocktails or spend the afternoon with a cold beer while jumping off the deck into the lagoon.
Dive Information
Maverick Surf and Dive Boutique Hotel is located in Laamu Atoll, one of the least crowded diving areas in the Maldives. The dive sites here are quiet, with healthy reefs and lots of marine life. For a broader look at diving in the Maldives, see Maldives Dive Resorts vs Liveaboards.
What you can see
Divers can expect to see manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, rays, and large schools of reef fish. The area is known for clear water and colorful coral reefs.
Because the resort sits near two main channels, there is a good chance to see bigger marine life as currents bring fish into the atoll.

Dive sites & conditions
There are several dive sites close to the resort, including channel dives and reef dives. The nearby channels offer strong currents, making them great for drift diving. The house reef is also easily accessible and drops down to deeper water, so both beginners and experienced divers can enjoy it.
The Mundoo and Maaibadhoo channels have some of the best drift diving in the world. Because of the strong currents, these sites are better suited for more experienced divers.
Diving experience
Dives are done by boat, with short travel times to most sites. Some of the best spots are just a few minutes away. Since there are only a few resorts in Laamu Atoll, dive sites are not crowded, giving a more relaxed and natural experience.
