Hotel Maitai Rangiroa

Shared lagoon bungalow furthest from lobby at hotel Maitai Rangiroa with dive partner/wife. Quiet, private, but still very short walk to facilities. Clean, spacious enough rooms w/ AC, fan, good shower, and small deck/ view. Tight screens defeated by the heavy sliding barn door with mosquito-sized gap. General store next door with chips, beer, and bug spray. Quick, free transport to Top Dive operator for surface intervals between AM, afternoon dives at our own lovely bar, restaurant and infinity pool. The hotel common areas were beautiful and always welcoming. We pre-paid B/L/dinner and I can't recommend that plan and ALL the food enough. We were teated like, and ate like, royalty, especially given the listed food prices. Seafood was excellent, steak (duh) not so much. The bar and restaurant were popular, but never crowded. Usually we seek outside food while traveling , but didn't seem necessary on Rangiroa.

Hotel Maitai is a really good affordable accommodation option in Rangiroa. The rooms are simple and built in traditional style, but they are large and spacious. AC is available which is a plus. Each rooms have a nice patio with chairs and a table. The infinity pool is located right on the ocean and offers amazing views. Next to the pool is a bar and restaurant with the same great views. The restaurant food is decent. Wfi is a little spotty, but you're on vacation so unplugging is refreshing.
