We were getting ready to honeymoon and being in love with diving we sad let it the Red Sea this time. Boy we made a good choice. We searched online for a place not cheap - not expensive, and we found a small-to-medium hotel, right in the Makadi Golf, on the beach, and it was on offer: get two weeks for the price of one!!! :) LUCKY!
The hotel was a 4 star hotel but I would grant it a maximum of 3, but it was clean, had a very large room, with a sea view of course :). The staff was just great: fast learning the country we were from, cracking jokes in the restaurant. It was an all inclusive restaurant, good decent food, no caviar or fancy stuff, but good international cuisine. Huge pool with pool bar in the courtyard, friend staff (my wife got some stomach flu from the water and they were bringing limes and fresh water for her).
We started snorkeling for the first couple of days just to see the terain and we were blown away. Coming from a background of lake diving, the sea life was a different animal all together. The water was "infested" with colorful fishes, gigantic oysters, mourena's. We chose the diving center located within the hotel, great guys, one of them the Egypt windsurf champion (Hi Rasheed :).
In the evenings we took long walks on the beach to the near marina, it was beautifull!

All in all, I would definitely go back with my kids this time.

If I can further help anyone who is interested about the area, I would gladly do it!

Cheers,

Puiu D.
