Highlights of 2020

The year 2020 will be one many of us are keen to forget. But despite most travelers having to postpone or cancel their dive plans, Bluewater still managed to run several successful trips and photo workshops to various parts of the globe. Here’s our round-up of the highlights of 2020, and I think you’ll agree it wasn’t all doom and gloom!

Top 20 Dive Sites in the World

Every diver has their favorite site; a hidden gem on their doorstep they’ve explored a hundred times, or perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime vacation dive that conjures awesome memories. From historic shipwrecks to breathtaking marine life hotspots, spectacular coral reefs to lesser-known but equally special locations, we’ve pulled together our Bluewater best dive sites in the world. Each of these sites has been carefully selected by one of our well-traveled Trip Leaders, and they all guarantee some fantastic diving.

galapagos diving

Anyone who has visited the Galapagos Islands will undoubtedly label it as one of the top destinations they’ve encountered. Masses of diverse marine life, unique endemic species, and some of the best shark diving in the world. Situated in such a remote location, it’s no surprise that the area’s isolated wildlife has evolved independently, creating a one-of-a-kind trip for nature enthusiasts and divers alike.

Bluewater Travel has long been an advocate of underwater conservation, and we understand only too well the value of a rich and diverse marine ecosystem. Many of our most memorable dive trips have been as a result of awesome encounters with iconic marine creatures, experiencing a brief but intimate snapshot of their world that will stay with our guests for a lifetime.

liveaboard diving

Imagine waking to the gentle rhythmic tap of waves against the hull of a boat, wandering barefoot, coffee in hand, to the upper deck, and feasting your eyes on a glorious sunrise over a horizon that you’ve never laid eyes on. A warm, tropical sea breeze helps to bring you fully round as you head back to the dive deck where your kit is assembled and ready to dive. After an hour of spectacular exploration where you feel like the first person to discover the reef, you’re dissecting the dive over a freshly cooked breakfast.
